A New MoU Inked between Daleel Petroleum, Petroleum Development of Oman& Oman Aviation Academy

Daleel Petroleum, Petroleum Development of Oman jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will facilitate and support young Omani development in line with the National Objectives Programme. This step paves a new path to the potential of our demographic skilling ecosystem and reflects commitment to the directions of the Ministry of Oil & Gas as part of the In-Country Value (ICV) initiative.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Zhang Jianli, Managing Director and Mr. Abdullah Al Shanfari, Deputy Managing Director, at Daleel Petroleum, and Eng. Abdul Amir Al Ajmi, External Affairs and Value Creation Director from Development Petroleum of Oman and Captain Abdullah Al Bulushi, CEO of Oman Aviation Academy
Under the MoU, both sides join efforts and express commitment towards the implementation of the 1.2 Training Levy. The training funds will be utilized to sponsor employment programmes for Omanis. The programmes will be delivered within the suppliers and venders community under the supervision of the Oman Society for Petroleum Services (OPAL). An initiative that ultimately contributes to the development of Omani economy.
On the occasion, Dr. Hilal Al Sawai, ICV Team Leader at Daleel Petroleum stated that: “all relevant parties will leverage its capabilities and resources to scale up the skilling of young Omanis into the working force in their respective roles. Thus achieving growth that serves to the best interest of our nation.”
Eng. Abdul Amir Al Ajmi said: “PDO is pleased to partner with Daleel Petroleum on this training programme which will provide young Omanis with jobs in the aviation industry.
Aviation is a sector where we have already created jobs in recent years and we are honored to be working closely with valued partners from other sectors to fulfil our landmark commitment to support the creation of jobs for Omanis across different industries.”
Captain Abdullah noted that “Oman Aviation Academy (OAA) is the first aviation training academy in the Sultanate of Oman that aims to provide the highest standards for civil aviation in the Middle East and Africa region. Further, the academy believes in developing and training its local workforce through providing various technical jobs to national cadres in alignment with the country’s 2040 Vision. OAA aims towards developing the capabilities of local talents and encourage the enhancement of technical skills to fulfil the demand in the sector and develop a well-trained national cadre under the supervisor of the highest international standards in alignment with its long-term strategy and vision.
The MoU signed at Daleel Petroleum Headquarters in Muscat, outlines the strategic cooperation between the two parties in funding the Oman Aviation Academy (1 Theoretical ground instructor & 2 Flight Instructors) of a training programme. The programme will establish a platform to enable contribution to the sustainable development of Omani apprentices.
