The National Employment Programme Signs a MOU in Collaboration with Daleel Petroleum to Develop & Nourish National Skills for Self-employment and Entrepreneurship

The National Employment Programme signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in collaboration with Daleel Petroleum to develop and qualify national skills for self-employment and entrepreneurship. This is set with an objective to enable the Omani youth to enter the self-employment market in an initiative launched by the National Employment Programme. The MoU was signed by Dr Badr bin Hamoud Al Kharousi, Head of the Development Team for the National Employment Programme, and Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Darmaki, Senior People & Support Manager at Daleel Petroleum.
The scope of this memorandum includes assigning several training & empowerment programmes to the Omani youth to enable direct access into the labour market. The programme will include technical, scientific, skill and innovative disciplines that synchronize with the elements of modern technology, information revolution, and future skills systems.
The memorandum emphasises on the importance of self-employment philosophy among the Omani Youth and prompts their readiness to explore this economic platform for their best interest as well as meet the requirements of the local market.
Dr Badr bin Hamoud Al Kharousi, Head of the Development Team for the National Employment Programme, considered the memorandum an extension of efforts made by the Programme under the self-employment initiative. It is crucial to direct the Omani Youth to seize all opportunities provided within this initiative that offers a wider scale for creativity and innovation in different economic sectors in the Country. The programme will offer specialized training for professional development in freelancing and entrepreneurship, as well as encourage pro-activeness and innovativeness essential to the labour market to create an economic outlet for sustainable development in the society.
From Daleel Petroleum, Mohammed Al Darmaki, Senior People & Support Manager shared insights on the efforts demonstrated by the company in training and building Omani capabilities for various development sectors in Oman. This role is part of its corporate responsibility towards the society and empowering the Omani youth in line with Oman Vision 2040.
